RAM Dashboard Light Guide

New RAM vehicles are some of the best on the market, especially for those looking for a hardy truck or van that can withstand the everyday workload you put it through. The vehicles are also well-known for being safe and reliable. In an effort to help you take good care of your vehicle, your friends at Allen Mello Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM have put together an answer to one of your most pressing questions: "What does that dashboard light mean?"

Warning Lights

These lights let you know that there's a serious problem with your vehicle, and that you need to take care of the problem immediately. To do that, you'll want to pull over as soon as it is safe to do so and contact your local RAM service center for directions on what to do next.

  • Engine Temperature Light - This light lets you know that the engine is overheating. Be sure to stop the vehicle as soon as it is safe to do so, and call for service.
  •
  • Battery Charge Warning Light - This light lets you know that the battery isn't charging correctly. Be sure to head to the service center as soon as possible for a replacement or charge.
  •
  • Oil Pressure Warning Light - This light lets you know that your vehicle's oil pressure is low, or that your vehicle is nearly out of oil.
  •
  • Electric Power Steering Fail warning - This light lets you know that your vehicle's power steering system is malfunctioning.
  •
  • Check Engine Light - This light lets you know that there is a problem with your vehicle's internal control system and requires a mechanic's view to see what the problem is.

Indicator Lights

These lights let you know that there's a maintenance or service situation you need to take care of as soon as possible.

  • Low Fuel Indicator Light - This light lets you know that your fuel level has reached about 1.5 gallons or less. Be sure to refill your fuel tank as soon as you can!
  •
  • Anti-lock Brake Indicator Light - This light lets you know that there's a problem with your vehicle's Anti-lock Braking System. The vehicle will use standard non-anti-lock brakes, but should be serviced soon.
  •
  • Low Coolant Level Indicator Light - This light lets you know that your vehicle's coolant level is low or nearly out, and requires refueling.
